Pico Zoom FX International Interior Design Awards 2014
Precision Lighting’s Pico Zoom variable beam LED mini-spotlight range has been shortlisted in the Lighting Product category of the 2014 FX International Interior Design Awards. The winners will be announced on November 26, 2014 at Grosvenor House, London.
Pico Zoom, designed by Precision Lighting’s Peter McClelland, was recently described as ‘nothing short of a mini-marvel’ by a leading industry publication and has received critical acclaim since launching. The miniature LED spotlight with variable beam technology allows for superior focusing, ideal for use in retail and museum displays.
Precision Lighting’s Pico series is extremely compact, making it a discreet and unobtrusive addition to interiors. The combination of adjustable optics and the exceptionally smooth movement of the linear focusing mechanism, makes it possible to position and focus with pinpoint accuracy. A beam width range of between 12o and 30o ensures the Pico Zoom offers optimal flexibility whilst maintaining a minimum profile.
The Pico Zoom range also includes the S1 Zoom and Pico Zoom Surface allowing for maximum versatility. The long stemmed S1 Zoom is ideal for gallery picture lighting and the Pico Zoom Surface makes cabinet display lighting truly adaptable. Pico luminaires have been specified for numerous prestigious projects such The Science Museum, Mappin & Webb’s Regent Street showroom and the Cheapside Hoard exhibition in the Museum of London. Most recently Pico Zooms were used to light jewellery at Rock Vault, a unique showcasing initiative at London Fashion Week which has been set up to help nurture creative, fine jewellery talent within the United Kingdom.
The Pico Zoom delivers a lumen package of 125lm at 1.6W from a single source. All Precision Lighting luminaires are machined from aerospace-grade aluminum allowing for optimal thermal performance and aesthetics. Brushed aluminium, white and black finishes are standard, with custom finishes available on request.
‘The FX Awards are highly prestigious and we are delighted that Precision Lighting’s Pico Zoom has been shortlisted against a very strong field. It shows the value of investing in R&D and high quality engineering,’ said Precision Lighting managing director Alex Ruston. ‘We believe the Pico Zoom to be the smallest variable beam LED product currently available on the market.’
