NILES, IL — Luminii, an industry-leading manufacturer of architectural LED lighting systems, today announced the expansion of its award-winning STENOS family with the launch of STENOS Square, a new line of micro-optic downlights built around Luminii’s proprietary Titanium Dioxide Chip Scale Package (CSP) LED technology. The new square downlights deliver the same uncompromising precision, control, and performance that define the STENOS line, now in an all-new architectural, square form factor.
At its core, STENOS Square reflects Luminii’s dedication to performance lighting designed for real-world applications, quiet, architectural, and effortlessly powerful. Available in 4-inch and 6-inch sizes, the fixtures deliver up to 820 lumens and 1600 lumens respectively, with peak intensities reaching 12000 candelas. Ideal for accent and general illumination across high-end residential, retail, hospitality, and commercial environments, each is powered by Luminii’s proprietary micro-optics engine for exceptional beam quality, tight beam control, and superior uniformity. Delivering more than 20 footcandles at 16 feet with the 4-inch model and over 40 footcandles with the 6-inch, STENOS Square provides powerful, controlled illumination for large, high-ceiling spaces that demand both performance and precision.

Engineered for versatility, STENOS Square supports recessed (trimmed and trimless), surface mount, and conduit cover installations ideal for both new construction and retrofit applications. With integral or remote driver options, IC, and Chicago Plenum-rated configurations, and 0.1% dimming compatibility across phase, 0-10V, and DALI-2 control, the system ensures unmatched flexibility. Each luminaire is available in 2700K–4000K, 90+ CRI, and a 2-step MacAdam ellipse, ensuring exceptional color consistency across applications.

The STENOS Square family features fixed and adjustable versions, with the adjustable offering a 360° rotation and 90° tilt for full aiming flexibility. A modular, field-serviceable design simplifies maintenance, while easy to use magnetic accessories allowing for quick and easy beam and louver changes in 15°, 30°, and 50° options.
STENOS + Human Centric Illumination
In today’s environments, light quality is paramount. Unwanted glare not only disrupts the visual experience but also impacts occupant well-being and productivity. The Unified Glare Rating (UGR) is an international standard used to quantify and control discomfort glare in lighting design. The lower the UGR value, the more visually balanced and comfortable the environment becomes. STENOS Square achieves a UGR below 11, placing it amongst the most refined, glare-controlled downlights in its class. This ultra-low-glare performance, combined with precise micro-optic control, delivers smooth, uniform illumination that supports human perception and enhances architectural detail without distraction.
